Reiki for Cancer Patients
Reiki is a type of energy healing, a stress reduction and relaxation technique that is used to encourage healing. Some studies have explored the effect of Reiki on patients who are undergoing cancer treatment concurrently. These studies have found that, although Reiki is not a substitute for cancer treatments, by using Reiki alongside their treatment may be beneficial to patients as they deal with the symptoms and stresses of cancer.
Reiki treatments can:
-
help you to feel deeply relaxed
-
help you cope with difficult situations
-
relieve emotional stress and tension
-
help to improve wellbeing
Many cancer patients report feeling more relaxed after receiving Reiki treatments. While Reiki may enhance relaxation and coping abilities, it is important to remember that it does not treat cancer itself.
Reiki is generally safe for cancer patients, non-invasive and cannot cause harm. After a Reiki treatment, it's recommended to rest and drink plenty of water. Always inform your doctor about any complementary, holistic or alternative therapies you are using to ensure they have a complete understanding of your care and treatment plan.
Reiki is used in hospices and many cancer centres around the world offer free Reiki treatments.
Here at The Sacred Space, I offer 4 x 30 minute free Reiki healing sessions for cancer patients.
Please note these sessions are in person and not distant. For distant healings please see Reiki Distant Healings page for bookings.
Please book online or contact me to make your appointment.
Much love
Abigail
